Prospect Primer

Let's take a short reprieve from March Madness and do a little catching up with the local football recruiting scene for the Class of 2011:
Coming off banner campaigns as juniors last fall, both Southfield's Dae'von Robinson and Troy Athens' Jake Duzey recently received their first scholarship offers. Robinson a shifty, yet powerful running back got an offer from Toledo back in late February, while Duzey, a big and fast wide receiver/tight end, got offered by Central Michigan in the first week of March. What's so great about Robinson and Duzey is that each kid is as spectacular on the field as he is off it and both hit the books just as hard as they hit the competition on the field of battle. Duzey is a three-sport super stud, playing a mean power forward on the Red Hawks hoops squad and can hit the ball a mile and a half while swinging away at the plate for the Athens diamond cutters.
In some other intriguing news from the area's recruiting front, both Neno Jones-Fletcher from Farmington and Mike Sullivan of Waterford Our Lady of the Lakes have been shooting up recruiting boards and could each end up landing themselves spots to play at the next level in two years. Jones-Fletcher is a jitterbug of a running back, who really started to come on at the end of last season in the Falcons late playoff push. Sullivan is a gunslinger of a quarterback who has led the Lakers to the playoffs as both a sophomore and a junior and just recently gained some momentum in his drive for a college football scholarship by showing well at some off-season passing camps. When it's all said and done on his varsity career next fall, the strong-armed Sullivan could go down as statistically the best to ever take snaps under center for longtime head coach Mike Boyd's storied football program. If all goes well in his senior season, Sullivan could end up being the first WOLL QB to play D1 ball in quite some time.
Here are the DI colleges that have shown interest in this pair of gridiron gladiators:
Jones Fletcher – WMU, CMU, Bowling Green, Toledo, Ball State
Mike Sullivan –   MSU, Colorado, Toledo, Rutgers, Vanderbilt, Wisconsin, Bowling Green
