Comments from Friday night on the prep gridiron:
Oxford's Prescott Line (391, 6 TDs in upset win over Southfield) is the state's MVP this season……Yeah, I said it!!!!!........Get this kid a doctor 'cause he's CRAZY SICK!!!!!
After watching the OLSM Eaglets completely and utterly DISMANTLE Warren DLS, I've spotted a few ST. MARY'S SLEEPERS:
1 Austin Johnson – Most underappreciated offensive lineman in the Catholic League
2 Danny Clements – The Eaglets senior signal caller is starting to really reach a comfort zone running the St. Mary's offense and that's a genuine X-Factor moving into the final portion of the season
3 Jalen Watts Jackson – Only a sophomore, I think I might have found the next Eaglets star!!
4 David Talley – Gets overshadowed by his fellow linebacker and UofM-recruit James Ross, but my man DT is an outright BEAST in his own right on the defensive side of the ball and will make a very productive college player in the future
What about Burney's homeboys over at South Lyon?…..these Lions, just like the ones playing in Downtown Detroit, are the REAL DEAL HOLYFIELD this year!!!! I love watching my man Justin Tolinski GET BUSY against KLAA opponent, like crosstown foe South Lyon East in the SL's 30-10 beatdown on Friday
I've decided to nickname Holly junior quarterback Johnny Williams ……wait for it…….JOHNNY B GOOD……..do I really have to explain? Burney's boy B GIZZLE racked up nearly 300 total yards and 3 Tds in Bronchos 5th straight 'W'
Lake Orion junior running back Jacob Miller is officially a SUPERSTAR!!!!! J-Dub went all ARIAN FOSTER on the Troy Athens 'D' on Friday, breaking out for 285 yards and 3 TDs in the Dragons 28-14 triumph!!!!!
Madison Heights Madison senior wide out Tevin Washington had a breakout game in the Eagles 32-7 thrashing of Fraser by catching 3 touchdown passes. The funny thing about Washington's backstory is that he could easily be at Royal Oak Shrine, the No. 1 in the state in D7. Over the summer, Washington played his summer football and basketball with the Knights before having a last-second change of mind and returning to Madison before the first day of school. Ironically, Eagles basketball star Damon Bozeman went through a similar ordeal, playing summer hoops with Walled Lake Western prior to coming back to Madison for his senior year.
