The American Military Service Academies are having a love affair with Oakland County, raiding the local prep gridiron ranks for talent in their last two recruiting classes.
This week Pontiac Notre Dame Prep's Ruiari McGreevy, the Fighting Irish's strong-footed kicker signed a National Letter of Intent with Air Force.
Back in January, Navy snagged a fearsome lead-footer when the Midshipmen signed Clarkston placekicker and punter Alex Barta.
Last year, Lake Orion's Marques Stevenson inked with Air Force following an all-state senior season where he captained the Dragons to a state title and established himself as one of the hardest-working running backs in the Midwest.
McGreevy and his leg helped navigate NDP to a perfect regular season and into the playoffs in 2011. Barta was Clarkston's starting kicker the past two campaigns when the Wolves were one of the state's top-ranked squads and qualified for the playoffs in each year. Both McGreevy and Barta have been mentored by former Detroit Lions All-Pro placekicker Eddie Murray.
