Blogs > Burney's Bytes
Burney's Bytes will focus primarily on the local preps sports scene, but will also touch on some college and pro athletics, mostly in regards to athletes who hail and have played high school sports in Oakland County. My goal for the blog is to be conversational and anecdotal, a more relaxed and free formal take on high school athletics than you see in regular game day coverage.

A couple of names from the North Farmington Raiders to look for on the football field this fall:
Chauncey Bridges (CB) – This lockdown cornerback is getting some serious looks from college recruiters after a stellar offseason. He's also a pretty darn good back-up floor general on the school's varsity boys basketball squad, spelling all-league point guard and friend Caleb Hogans. Bridges will be a senior captain on the gridiron in 2012 and the leader of a Raiders team looking to make back-to-back playoff appearances for the first time in school history.
Jordan Blaylock (ATH) – When starting quarterback Kevin Penny went out for some time mid-season last fall, Blaylock, a starter in the secondary, stepped in under center and made sure the Raiders didn't miss a beat on their way to the school's first playoff berth in six years. The incoming junior will be looked to for playmaking in a variety of aspects this season and considering his already well-established versatility, Burney doubts he will disappoint.
