The 32nd annual Michigan High School Football All-Star Game took place on Saturday on the campus of Alma College.
Despite the Oakland County-led East squad taking quite a beating on the field, the game brought back memories of classic OC outings of the past.
Here were some of the best:
Oxford sports legend and NFL placekicker Dave Rayner (MSU) booted a 40-yard field goal in the 2001 game.
Southfield alum and former NFL cornerback Torin Dorn (Oakland Raiders) rushed for an all-star game record 171 yards on 17 carries in the 1986 game.
Former South Lyon gunslinger Dennis Reedy threw for a then all-star game record 211 yards on 16-of-32 passing attempts in the 2004 game.
West Bloomfield grad Chris Hurst caught 5 balls for 171 yards and two touchdowns, including a 79-yard bomb that he took to the house down the right sideline in the 2009 game.
Future pros Jon Jansen of Clawson and Aric Morris of Berkley were both demons on the defensive side of the ball in their respective appearances. Morris, who played with the Tennessee Titans in the SHOW, posted an all-star game record 12 tackles in the 1997 game, andJansen, an offensive lineman in college at Michigan and in the NFL with the Washington Redskins, recorded 10 wrap ups in the 1994 game.
