Change of Heart

Isaiah Gourdine won't be the Cincinnati Kid after all.
Gourdine, Farmington's senior football star, de-committed from the University of Cincinnati on Wednesday, re-opening his recruitment to an array of big-name suitors.
The 6-foot-2, 195 pound free safety is an athletic playmaker in the secondary, with strength, speed and a killer instinct. His upside at the college level is extremely high.
There's a good chance Gourdine could end up in the Big 10; Iowa has always been a favorite of his, something he wasn't shy about sharing during his original recruiting period. The Hawkeyes were the only BCS program to offer him prior to his verbal commitment to Cincinnati.
In the wake of changing head coaching regimes, Cincinnati (9-3) is preparing to play in the 2012 Belk Bowl down in Charlotte, North Carolina on December 27. The Big East power Bearcats hired former Texas Tech and Auburn sideline general Tommy Tubberville to head their program over the weekend, following Butch Jones departing Cincinnati to take the reins at the University of Tennessee.
A two-year starter at Farmington on both sides of the ball, Gourdine was also a field-stretching wide receiver, making several clutch touchdown catches in his time in a Falcons uniform.
