A few names of local boys basketball studs looking sharp to start off the summer:
Kharry Fanning (Southfield) – This hard-working, athletic and wiry forward is showing that he could be a "breakout baller" for the Bluejays in 2014
Jerlyd Booker (WL Western) – Rock-steady and really good running the point for TEAM RA RA last winter, looking even better so far this offseason
John Rexrothe (FH Harrison) – The Hawks' big fella is getting more secure in his footwork and better with his back to the basket each day
Maury Diane (Birmingham DCD) – 'Jackets juggernaut at the off-guard spot just snagged a scholarship offer from U-D Mercy
Timmy Shayoka (Troy Athens) – Gutty floor general with an endless motor that will run the show for the deep, dogged and fast-improving Red Hawks, fresh off an unexpected district title back in March
Merrick Canada (Clarkston) – This spunky combo guard for the Wolves drained a buzzer-beater in OT to send C-Town to the win at the EMU team camp
Jacob Joubert (North Farmington) – Might be the most improved underclassmen cager in the OAA Red this winter…..growing into his body and his game in a big way, crafty and smart in the backcourt just like his pops "The Judge" was.
Lindsey Hunter IV (Southfield Christian) – Transforming into a genuine D1 prospect, has really fine-tuned his arsenal, just really dangerous with the ball in his hands up top or on transition
