Blogs > Burney's Bytes
Burney's Bytes will focus primarily on the local preps sports scene, but will also touch on some college and pro athletics, mostly in regards to athletes who hail and have played high school sports in Oakland County. My goal for the blog is to be conversational and anecdotal, a more relaxed and free formal take on high school athletics than you see in regular game day coverage.

Halle Wangler and Tori Duffy are changing playing locations. The pair of former local prep girls hoop stars have transferred out of their respective Division I college programs and will be looking to find new homes asap.
Wangler, who prepped at Royal Oak Shrine, earning all-state honors as a senior on the wing, has left Oakland University. She is a human ball of energy on the hardwood, an elite defender that has significantly upped her game on the offensive side of the court the last few years.
Duffy is a super-steady and savvy combo guard who is departing the University of New Hampshire, most likey to come play somewhere closer to home. She prepped at Walled Lake Central and then Waterford Our Lady of the Lakes, where as a senior in 2012 she helped the Lakers win a state championship.
