Blogs > Burney's Bytes
	Burney's Bytes will focus primarily on the local preps sports scene, but will also touch on some college and pro athletics, mostly in regards to athletes who hail and have played high school sports in Oakland County. My goal for the blog is to be conversational and anecdotal, a more relaxed and free formal take on high school athletics than you see in regular game day coverage.

Birmingham Brother Rice has a good deal of stars shining bright on the football field this fall. That's why they're the OC's TOP GRID DAWG moving into the final quarter of the campaign.
        But the Warriors   are also chalk full with lesser-known SIR-GRIND-A-LOTS doing all the dirty work, filling in the gaps and making the team's marquee players look sharp.
        Here's a breakdown;
        Sage Baltrusaitis – Might be the smartest, most rock-solid presence at center in the OC....His SWAGGER LEVEL has already reached FIVE HUNDRED THOUSAND TRILLION!!
        Josh Flye, Damaris Woods &Patrick Sparks – The No. 3, No. 4 and No. 5 wide receivers for the Orange&Black that all would be clear-cut No. 1 receivers on most prep squads in the area...THAT'S A FACT!!
        Dom Perkovic – A true leader on the defensive line and an X-Factor going down the stretch....TAKE IT 2 THE BANK!!
        Austin Brown – One of the best fullbacks in the state....TUFF AS NAILS!!
        Charles Gleeson – Just start calling this kid "The Hit Machine" 'cuz he lays the WOOD with authority on every one of his tackles from the strong safety spot
        Navin Abro – Pesky prowler in the secondary
        Jack Dunaway & Josiah Thomas – Ferocious tandem in the trenches, both stopping the run and rushing the passer
        Joe Plaskey, Joe Lewandowksi & Marc Miller – This trio of NITTY GRITTY Grid Gladiators always get the job done when they're called upon on 'D'
        Ty Kiafoulis – UofMichigan baseball-commit that is a very talented tight end and acts as a valued safety valve in the high-octane Rice passing attack
