Burney's Bytes will focus primarily on the local preps sports scene, but will also touch on some college and pro athletics, mostly in regards to athletes who hail and have played high school sports in Oakland County. My goal for the blog is to be conversational and anecdotal, a more relaxed and free formal take on high school athletics than you see in regular game day coverage.

Border Greetings
The Michigan-Ohio Border Classic is coming to The Mitten. Next year, the second-annual gridiron battle of prep football bowers from the Wolverine and Buckeye States respectively will be played in Detroit at Wayne State's Adams Field. In case you didn't know, Michigan won the inaugural MEGA showdown back in June, basically manhandling the what Burney likes to call TEAM CEDAR POINTE (since in my opinion that's really the best thing about the state of Ohio, don't you think?) God, I can't wait until the summer of 2015 to see some more CLUB MICHIGAN TAIL-KICKING and another DUB...YEAH I SAID IT! Man, Clawville's Jimmy Sparks does a superb job running the ship that is the MHSFCA all-star festivities, What a guy, What a coach!!
