Spencer For Hire

Back in the 1980s there was a television show called Spencer For Hire about a former Boston cop turned private investigator coming to the rescue of those in need on a weekly basis.
Much like his fictional namesake, Birmingham Roeper star soccer player Spencer Solys, is a master of coming to the rescue.
The junior forward tied a school record by registering 30 goals this past season, a big chunk of which were of the game-winning variety.
A prime example of Solys explosiveness and clutch timing;
In one game last month, he scored a breathtaking three goals in less than 10 minutes to force overtime in a match and then followed that up by assisting on the game-winner in the extra-session.
Solys will be one of Oakland County's leading returning players and most exciting offensive talents on the prep pitch next fall.
This past campaign, he led Roeper to a 17-3 record and its first league championship in 13 years. The Roughriders were the only team to beat Division 4 state champion Allen Park Inter-City Baptist and they did it not once, but TWICE!!!!
With Solys and fellow star player David Vellette back for head coach Ed Sack, Roeper will once again be one of the state best small school squads and competing for both league and district titles come the end of the 2012 campaign.
The last time a Roeper player scored 30 goals in one season was in 1995 when all-state forwards Eric Righetti (Eastern Michigan/Albion for hoops) and Byron Pink (Eastern Michigan) tallied 30 goals and 30 assists apiece while leading the Roughriders to an appearance in the state finals.
