Some names of a few fast-rising studs on that ole' Red-colored gridiron over at Orchard Lake St. Mary's to keep an eye out for when camp opens next month:
Josh Dabney – The man in the middle for TEAM PORRITT now….Dabney, big-boned and agile, is set to anchor both sides of the line in the wake of losing former Eaglets' point-of-a-attack plower Austin Johnson to graduation.
Garrett Edgell – The new field general in REDZONELAND these days….Edgell has all the tools to game-manage an offense and pick teams apart with his accurate arm
Tyler Cochrane & Lamon Mathison – Hard-hitting and quick-thinking tandem at safety that will help pace the St. Mary's secondary
Mikah Grigsby – This under-the-radar special is set to take Van Jefferson's spot in the receiving corps, with VJ off with his pops to finish high school in Tennessee……Will make opposing defenses pay if they focus too much attention in stopping MSU-commit Jalen Watts-Jackson aka The NOTORIOUS JWJ (proving the perfect on and off-the-field mentor for this up-and-comer in the Eaglets line-up)
Nate Conrad – Besides holding things down up front with Dabney, look for Conrad to breakout at tight end this fall……Conrad will be a great safety valve for Edgell in the TEAM PORRITT passing attack
The revamped running game – The all-staters are off to college (see G. Niemiec, the McInnis Brothers) and now it's up to a mighty able-bodied committee of complimentary rushers to carry the heavy lifting in the St. Mary's running game. ROLL CALL: Julian "The Jet" Jones, Mark Zanders, Ross Moore and Jeff Robinson. Anyone one of these playmakers could drop a CENTURY SPOT in the rushing sheet, together they could be very bothersome to the rest of the Catholic League
