Blogs > Burney's Bytes
Burney's Bytes will focus primarily on the local preps sports scene, but will also touch on some college and pro athletics, mostly in regards to athletes who hail and have played high school sports in Oakland County. My goal for the blog is to be conversational and anecdotal, a more relaxed and free formal take on high school athletics than you see in regular game day coverage.

Mad shout outs to a trio of former OC prep grid studs that made NFL rosters this season as undrafted free agents:
SIR GRIND-A-LOT ROLL CALL
Kenny Demens (LB Arizona Cardinals) –This DCD Yellowjackets alum helped TEAM MAC into the state finals in the late 2000s as a prepster and starred in the Big 10 at the University of Michigan as a fast, smart and instinctive outside backer...possesses the tools to find a place and stick in the league
Jeff Heath (S Dallas Cowboys) – Opportunistic, savvy and hard-hitting defensive back that reps Saginaw Valley State with pride and booted the kick heard 'round the Mitten while playing at Lake Orion in 2008 to propel the Dragons into the state championship game at Ford Field…….…'Nuff Said!!!!
Zach Line (RB Minnesota Vikings) – Oxforf alum and recent SMU Mustang grad (where he had a prolific career in the backfield down in the Lonestar State)…… Pure and simple s Grit Master General with all the X-Factors for success as a pro; the perfect fit as an NFL blocking back
