Blogs > Burney's Bytes
Burney's Bytes will focus primarily on the local preps sports scene, but will also touch on some college and pro athletics, mostly in regards to athletes who hail and have played high school sports in Oakland County. My goal for the blog is to be conversational and anecdotal, a more relaxed and free formal take on high school athletics than you see in regular game day coverage.

Farmington junior football star Dez Fitzpatrick is a wanted man no more.
Fitzpatrick, a big-play wide receiver with close to a dozen DI college scholarship offers, committed to the University of Louisville over the weekend.
Checking in at 6-foot-2, 185 pounds, he has sticky hands and is one of the smartest split ends and best route-runners I've ever seen at the high school level. This fall he hauled in 12 touchdowns. And he's a great kid - humble, driven, hard working, etc..
His Falcons finished the 2014 season 7-3, winning the OAA Blue Division championship. With Fitzpatrick leading the way (along with THE BEAST David Reese, Jakkar Jackson and Kyle Brunson), Farmington might have the county's top incoming senior class for the 2015 campaign.
Jackson and Fitzpatrick got to Farmington last year, following spending their respective freshman years crosstown at Farmington Hills Harrison.
Louisville competes in the ACC and is currently 6-3 under head coach Bobby Petrino.
Besides The 'Ville, other FBS schools to extend bids were Indiana, Illinois, Purdue, Kentucky and Cincinnati.
