Blogs > Burney's Bytes
Burney's Bytes will focus primarily on the local preps sports scene, but will also touch on some college and pro athletics, mostly in regards to athletes who hail and have played high school sports in Oakland County. My goal for the blog is to be conversational and anecdotal, a more relaxed and free formal take on high school athletics than you see in regular game day coverage.

Former Birmingham Detroit Country Day boys basketball star David Webber was inducted into the Central Michigan University Athletic Hall of Fame this week.
Webber was a star in the backcourt for both Country Day and CMU, living up to his family's reputation as a killer on the hardwood.
Hooping at CMU in the late-1990s and early-2000s, DWebb finished his career as one of the program's all-time greats, tickling the twine at a breakneck pace while in a Chipps uniform. In 2001, he was named the Mid-American Conference Player of the Year. He finished his career as CMU's third leading-scorer in program history. Once, he scored 51 points in a single game.
While at DCD from 1994-1998, he helped lead the Yellowjackets to three straight state championships.
His old brothers are retired NBA all-star Chris Webber and former MSU Spartan and CMU Chippewa Jason Webber, both of whom also took Country Day to state titles in their time as prepsters.
