Blogs > Burney's Bytes

Burney's Bytes will focus primarily on the local preps sports scene, but will also touch on some college and pro athletics, mostly in regards to athletes who hail and have played high school sports in Oakland County. My goal for the blog is to be conversational and anecdotal, a more relaxed and free formal take on high school athletics than you see in regular game day coverage.

Getting Technical

"The Big Guy" from FALCONVILLE will be big balling in Hoosierland for his college hoops.
Recent Rochester grad Arben Camaj, an all-league pick out of the Oakland Activities Association this past winter and one of the area's top post players  the last two years, signed with Indiana Tech this week.
Camaj (6-foot-7) is a long and imposing threat in the paint. Last winter, he averaged 12 points, 10 rebounds and almost seven blocked shots per night on a Rochester team that won both district and regional crowns and dominated people in the frontcourt with a combination of him and McDonald's Al-American swingman James Young (Kentucky).
Indiana Tech, a Division II program located in Fort Wayne, went 21-10 in 2013.
