Blogs > Burney's Bytes
Burney's Bytes will focus primarily on the local preps sports scene, but will also touch on some college and pro athletics, mostly in regards to athletes who hail and have played high school sports in Oakland County. My goal for the blog is to be conversational and anecdotal, a more relaxed and free formal take on high school athletics than you see in regular game day coverage.

One on the board.
Oak Park football star Junior McMullen became the state's first player in the Class of 2015 to accept a DI college scholarship, committing to Western Michigan University this week.
At 6-foot-2, 225 pounds, he's a speedy, instinctive and hard-hitting outside linebacker.
Last season as a junior, McMullen made 76 tackles and recorded six sacks on a Knights playoff squad.
He's only the first of a parade of college-pigskin bound studs from the OP senior class, which will also be sure to include Johnny Kelly (RB-CB) and Shahid Bellamy (NT), among others.
TEAM CARTER aka the OP Knights will once again be a top-tier prep gridiron gang in Metro Detroit come this fall.
