Rock'n Roller Eddie Money once sang of Two Tickets to Paradise. Well, Southfield Christian junior football star Bobby Banks is bypassing Paradise and opting for PLEASANTVILLE instead. The ticket is currently in his hand. Its a trip he'll gladly embark upon in a little over a year from now and one that's quite well deserved (to say the least!!!).

Banks, one of the best tailbacks in the Oakland County, committed to play his college pigskin in Mount Pleasant this week, accepting a scholarship to Central Michigan University, continuing the recent trend of the small-school, short-tenured Eagles program' churning out Division I prospects (He's the fifth SCS football player to land at the DI level in the past five years).

Last season, Banks (6-foot-1, 210 pounds) rushed for 925 yards and 10 touchdowns, registering a robust 9-yard per carry average on an Eagles squad that brought home league and district crowns.

Displaying his versatility, he also kicks butt on defense at a linebacker spot – he notched 64 tackles in 2013.

This kid has all the tools; wheels, power, superior work ethic, outstanding internal engine, high-character, leadership-big-play ability (see game-winning touchdown in the district finals vs. BFoley a few months back). The bank is where they hold money and that's exactly what my main man Bobby Banks is......COOL, HARD CASH MONEY, with the rock in his grasp!!

His commitment to the Chipps makes him the fourth recruit to come on board for CMU's 2015 recruiting class, second spawning from the OC (following in the footsteps of Oak Park's defensive tackles Shahid Bellamy).

CMU finished 6-6 last fall.
