Dreaming of Friday Night Lights
The start of prep football practice is only a day away and Burney is bursting with excitement and anticipation. Here are a few things that Burney is sure to be dreaming about next few weeks in preparation for the start of the season which is less than 3 weeks away:
Southfield's Dae'von Robinson churning his way for his prototypical Barry Sanders-esque TD runs
CC captains Justin D'agostino, Andrew "Pac Man" Nelson, Brandon Tammaro and the like, imparting that state championship wisdom on the new starting shamrocks in their midst
Alex Fine (Lake Orion) doing his best Louis Delmas impression all season long!
First- year head coach Ron Bellamy at West Bloomfield leading the Lakers back to the playoffs in his first year at the helm
second-year sideline general Mario Evans at Oak Park leading the Knights back to the playoffs and doing it in resounding fashion.....Burney says the Knights will be the Pontiac Phoenix of 2011!!1 take it to the bank!
Farmington making a long run in the playoffs...and I'm talking real long!
DITO my HIGHLANDER HOMEBOYZ at RH ADAMS!
Brother Rice FB/LB Tim "Jumbo" Hamilton having a JUMBO year!
Brother Rice's Deshawn Brown and OLSM's Darnell Field's having BREAKOUT years!
OLSM's "NASTY BOYZ" defense, led by Cortez "The Terminator" Riley, Marcus "The Sack Man" Gleaves and James "Doomsday" Ross, leading the Eaglets back to FORD FIELD!
Seaholm's Shawn Conway being, well, SHAWN CONWAY!!!!
Bryan Bell (WL Central) and Willie Beavers (S-Lathrup) combining to have well over three dozen PANCAKE BLOCKS between them
Jake Duzey (Troy Athens/Iowa) having a DOOZIE of a season in getting himself ready for the BIG TEN!
DCD's gunslinger Josh Harris and his favorite target, Mr. "Extra Crispy" himself, Kenny Knight, hooking up for a slew of scores
My boys at WOLL winning a conference crown (at the very least!) at FORD FIELD this fall
Ray Tillman (AH Avondale) finally equaling his ability on the football field of that of his on the hardwood
MH Lamphere's killer twosome of Ryan Horvath and Mitch Kozlowski going all RYAN HORVATH and MITCH KOZLOWSKI on the comp!
Anthony "The Ant" Adams (Pontiac) showing everybody he's just as good a running back toting the ball on the football field as he is running the point on the basketball court
Valdez "The Reign Man" Showers (MH Madison) making it rain touchdowns all over his opponents in the MAC
