Blogs > Burney's Bytes

Burney's Bytes will focus primarily on the local preps sports scene, but will also touch on some college and pro athletics, mostly in regards to athletes who hail and have played high school sports in Oakland County. My goal for the blog is to be conversational and anecdotal, a more relaxed and free formal take on high school athletics than you see in regular game day coverage.

Josh Jones (WL Western) – Sick skills in the secondary, overall PRIMETIME talent
Kyle Bambard (WL Western) – Best quarterback in the league, dynamic in every way possible
Matt Kozmalski (WL Northern) – Most underrated player in the OC, a force of nature with the ball in his hands on offense or pursuing it on 'D'
Anthony Waite-Chuck Sanders (Lakeland) – Top running back tandem in the league, with each potential 1000-yard rushers this fall
Matt Boulus-Eric Rostec (WL Central) – Inspirational leaders of VIKINGSNATION in 2012, as Boulus will be one of the fiercest linebackers in the entire KLAA and Rostec, the team's quarterback and signal-caller in the secondary as a third-year starting safety.
Jake Ginster (WL Northern) – Just really, really good
Zach Prokes (WL Western) – Agile and aggressive leader of the Warriors' linebacking corps
Justice Bolling (Waterford Mott) – Big-time talent at wide receiver for TEAM FAHR's reclamation project over in CORSAIRSCOUNTRY
James La Londe (WL Western) – Might be a Division I recruit by the end of the year, will become quite friendly with the end zone these next three years
(tie) Dakota Kupp (Waterford Mott) – Up-and-coming sophomore stud under center entering his second year as Mott's starting quarterback.....throw's a very pretty ball and has the kind of SUPER SWAGGER you're looking for in a standout field general
(tie) Nick Krumm (WL Central) – The next great Vikings' gridiron star, will be a pain to deal with for opponents as he's ready to start spreading his exciting brand of playmaking all over the field for TEAM MEYER
