Blogs > Burney's Bytes
Burney's Bytes will focus primarily on the local preps sports scene, but will also touch on some college and pro athletics, mostly in regards to athletes who hail and have played high school sports in Oakland County. My goal for the blog is to be conversational and anecdotal, a more relaxed and free formal take on high school athletics than you see in regular game day coverage.

A tantalizing trifecta of offensive linemen from the local prep football ranks committed to colleges over the weekend.
Troy's Greg (Moose) Weber and Tommy Richardson committed to Wayne State, while Birmingham Brother Rice's Griffin Anderson committed to Penn.
Weber was a four-year starter for the Colts. Teaming with Richardson the past few years, the pair of brutes anchored a Troy O-Line that was one of the best in the area and turned out 100-yard rushers like a candy dispenser at your neighborhood drug store.
Anderson started in the trenches for back-to-back Brother Rice state championship teams, helping spur a pair of Warriors tailbacks (Devin Church in 2011 and Brian Walker in 2012) to record-breaking campaigns.
Wayne State went 5-5 this fall. Penn finished 6-4, with a sparkling 6-1 mark in the Ivy League.
