Blogs > Burney's Bytes
Burney's Bytes will focus primarily on the local preps sports scene, but will also touch on some college and pro athletics, mostly in regards to athletes who hail and have played high school sports in Oakland County. My goal for the blog is to be conversational and anecdotal, a more relaxed and free formal take on high school athletics than you see in regular game day coverage.

Green is blue once again.
After intending on leaving Southfield High School, Isaiah Green, the Bluejays star junior hoopster, is back.
Green, a 6-foot-8 Division I college recruit in the post, considered relocating to Waterford Kettering, where his dad, Roosevelt, is an assistant coach under Ben Kelso.
However, he had second thoughts and so now he's returned to Southfield, where he's been on the Bluejays varsity cage squad since he was a Fab Frosh two years ago.
Green's playing status with Southfield is still up in the air though.
He hasn't played with the Bluejays in two weeks and its uncertain when he'll be able to suit up back in his Jays baller gear.
The Southfield High School administration and athletic department is investigating the situation to decide whether Green sacrificed any eligibility during his time away from his team.
When and if he will be able to play is unknown
