Blogs > Burney's Bytes

Burney's Bytes will focus primarily on the local preps sports scene, but will also touch on some college and pro athletics, mostly in regards to athletes who hail and have played high school sports in Oakland County. My goal for the blog is to be conversational and anecdotal, a more relaxed and free formal take on high school athletics than you see in regular game day coverage.

Things Are Opening Up

The Birmingham prep boys basketball scene is in a time of transition.
Both public high school hoop squads in the city, Groves and Seaholm, will have new faces on the bench when the 2015 campaign tips in December.
Last month, we found out that Groves was in need of another sideline general when the Falcons and Scott Sheckell parted ways.
Then, this week, Seaholm coach Jose Andrades, one of the most underrated cage tacticians around, decided to simplify his life and take the Almont job, so he could coach where he teaches.
Therefore, now both jobs are open.
Should be interesting to track.
