Blogs > Burney's Bytes

Burney's Bytes will focus primarily on the local preps sports scene, but will also touch on some college and pro athletics, mostly in regards to athletes who hail and have played high school sports in Oakland County. My goal for the blog is to be conversational and anecdotal, a more relaxed and free formal take on high school athletics than you see in regular game day coverage.

Five For Fighting - Rating The Rotations

Burney's 5 Best Pitching Staff's in The OC
WL Central (Paulson, Boedecker, Daykin) – Jake "The Snake" Paulson and Karl Boedecker are senior stalwarts and always throwing bullets, but junior Daykin's performance this year from the mound and the plate has been the key to the Vikings success!
2 Farmington (Gutknecht, Cooley, Scott, Smith) – Errik Scott is a BALLER and a SHOT CALLER!
3 a NOVI (Paulk, Regnier, Zak, Karas) – Adam Paulk reminds a lot of Jonah Hill because he's so so SUPERBAD!
3 b MH Lamphere (Lobur, Ryan, Baldwin, Kozlowski) – You can't stop Paul Lobur, you can only hope to contain him!
RH Adams (Strum, Johnson, Nestor, Druzinski) – "The Get 'r Done" Crew" is getting it done!
5 a  Groves (Mestdagh, Balbes, Poches, Moss, Fiest) – Hot start, working out mid-season woes, Poches and Mestdagh could be the best pair of junior hurlers in the area!
5 b Seaholm (Quigley, Otterbein, etc..) - Keith Otterbein is WOWING the SOCKS OFF the Great Burnzini this year with how well he's chucking that pill and that's saying alot!

Oxford's rotation of seniors Billy Kammerer, Eric Perry, junior Keith Paslean, and sophomore Michael Kitchner have a combined ERA of 1.70 and opponents are hitting just .179 against them. I would put them up against any staff in the county.
