Blogs > Burney's Bytes
Burney's Bytes will focus primarily on the local preps sports scene, but will also touch on some college and pro athletics, mostly in regards to athletes who hail and have played high school sports in Oakland County. My goal for the blog is to be conversational and anecdotal, a more relaxed and free formal take on high school athletics than you see in regular game day coverage.

Let's take a few moments to reflect on two of the most exciting games on the Oakland County prep boys hoops scene in 2012:
Clarkston senior sniper Nick Tatu going BALLISTIC for 47 pts and 12 3-bombs in C-Town's OAA crossover throwdown with Troy
The almost-unbelievable ending to the Class A district semifinal game between host Birmingham Seaholm and crosstown rival Birmingham Groves.....SPOILER ALERT;Seaholm junior juggernaut Paris Bass drills what looks to be a game-winning 40-footer at the buzzer, however, as the video below shows, unfortunately Maples head coach Jose Andrades called a timeout a millisecond prior to Bass releasing the ball.
Look for Bass, a long and athletic 6-foot-5 swingman, to be one of the best players in the area next winter as a senior.
