Blogs > Burney's Bytes
Burney's Bytes will focus primarily on the local preps sports scene, but will also touch on some college and pro athletics, mostly in regards to athletes who hail and have played high school sports in Oakland County. My goal for the blog is to be conversational and anecdotal, a more relaxed and free formal take on high school athletics than you see in regular game day coverage.

I saw two of my main Brother Rice Football Homeboys, Isaac Turner and Shaun Jones, the other day in downtown B'ham and they told me about a few more WARRIOR GRID STUDS to keep an eye out for this upcoming season:
Bo Pickens (Safety)– This kid is a Pickens, 'NUFF SAID!!! 3 more years of GREATNESS!!!Josh Flye (WR) – An incoming junior split end who lives up to his last name….HE's GOT WHEELS!!! Think local prep version of Darren Sproles!!!!
Alberto Sandoval (DL)–Will anchor the center of the defensive line at nose guard, allowing rush end specialists Sergio Perkovic and Kevin Henry to go all CLIFF AVRIL on opposing QBs
Dominic Perkovic (OL)– Sergio's little brother will most likely be starting on the O-Line this fall, learning the tricks of the trade from senior college recruits Griffin Anderson and Kyle Marsh
Pete Deporre (DL) – He missed all of last year with an injury and after a successful rehab and bulking up over the offseason, this hard-working senior is making a strong push to start at defensive tackle for TEAM FRACASSA in 2012
John Plaskey & Marty Bulger (WR) – A pair of senior wide outs that are looking to make one final big splash their last year on the prep gridiron
Marcus Cleveland (DB) –Don't sleep on this incoming senior that will be one of the emotional leaders of the secondary
