Blogs > Burney's Bytes

Burney's Bytes will focus primarily on the local preps sports scene, but will also touch on some college and pro athletics, mostly in regards to athletes who hail and have played high school sports in Oakland County. My goal for the blog is to be conversational and anecdotal, a more relaxed and free formal take on high school athletics than you see in regular game day coverage.

Eye On You - Walled Lake Northern

Names to watch for – Walled Lake Northern Football 2013
Chase Burton (QB) – Ready and more than reliable replacement for all-league signal-caller Collin O'Donnell….will be at the controls of an offense that has a chance to reclaim its title as the most dangerous arsenal in the area
P.J. Kern (RB) – Powerfully potent toting the pigskin, this Northtown Roadrunner can bang between the tackles and beat DBs in a footrace in the open field….might be the most productive tailback in the KLAA North this year
Matt Finn (SB) – This under-the-radar gem of an offensive weapon is a Burney "Supersonic Sleeper Special"….he could put up big numbers for TEAM MOORE, taking the spot of departing all-league superstar Matt Kozmalski.
Logan Birnie, Corey Williams & Fabian Lumaj (OL) – Tantalizing trio of hard-working BOSSES&HOSSES set to head the Northern assault at the point of attack
Ben Forhan (DL) – Tireless and terrorizing playmaker on the D-Line and one of the squad's locker room leaders
Aaron Chretien & Jack Garrett (LB) – Lynchpins of the Knights defense, this pair is plain priceless in the type of performances they routinely deliver at the linebacker position. Chretien makes a strong argument for one of the top overall players in the whole KLAA and Garrett is a grinder with a high grid IQ
