Blogs > Burney's Bytes
Burney's Bytes will focus primarily on the local preps sports scene, but will also touch on some college and pro athletics, mostly in regards to athletes who hail and have played high school sports in Oakland County. My goal for the blog is to be conversational and anecdotal, a more relaxed and free formal take on high school athletics than you see in regular game day coverage.

Southfield Christian role players Kameron Garner and Richard Feagin stepped up in a major way in the Eagles 54-51 comeback victory over Allen Park Inter-City Baptist Friday on the boys hardwood.
Garner scored a season-high 13 points and Feagin went for 8, including a pair of big triples - to help lead embattled and two-time defending Class D state champion SCS to the thrilling win on the road in very hostile waters.
Entering Friday's high-intensity affair, SCS was ranked No. 1 in the state and IC was ranked No. 2.
It was the second game the Eagles were playing minus all-state junior floor general, Bakari Evelyn, who is no longer a part of the program.
Garner and Feagin are both feisty on the wing and an active presences on both ends of the court. They do all the little things and his contributions – mostly in the shadows prior to the IC game – represent the team's championship spirit, passion and drive. Garner is a superstar football player in the fall as a WR-DB, snaring 11 picks and 11 TDS and capturing a district title in 2013. This kid is a PLAYA in so many ways its scary!!
Expect more of the same from these two going forward.
What an outstanding job the current SCS coaching staff (Roll Call: Clennie, JohnDub and DHart) has done to keep the Eagles' primed and focused. Does the term COMPLETELY UNFAZED mean anything to you?
